Things to do in Cancun

Cancun is a mexican city which is known for its beaches, numerous resorts and night life. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen in my lifetime. There are a lot of things to do and places to see in and around Cancun. And in this blog post, that i exactly what I will be sharing with you guys. So without further ado, lets just start 🙂

Best Time to Visit

Cancun has Tropical weather so you can visit any time during the year. But the best and most famous time to visit is from December to April. We visited during January and it was perfect there. It wasnt too crowded and weather was just amazing. It was a delight to enjoy sunshine after leaving the gloomy weather back home in seattle.

Where to Stay and Where I stayed

There are a lot of options in cancun regarding accomodation but it is suggested to stay in Hotel Zone, Cancun. All the resorts in Hotel Zone are right across the beach and transportation options are pretty good too. We stayed in Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun And it was incredible 🙂
It was an all inclusive resort and our room had incredible views of carribean sea. The staff at resort was super nice too. I will definitely choose this same resort in future as well.

And this was view from our room, incredible, isn’t it ? 🙂

Things to Do in/around Cancun

  • Parasailing and JetSki
If you are a fan of adventure just like me, You should definitely pick up Parasailing and JetSki Tour from Parasail Cancun . It was an amazing experience seeing Cancun from the top. The views were incredible and it was not as scary as i thought it would be.

  • Road trip to Chichen Itza : Chichen Itza is one of the seven wonders of the world and it is just at 2 hours 20 minute drive from Cancun. And its beautiful pyramid structure is really incredible. I will definitely suggest you guys to take a guide for chichen itza as guide really enhances your experience and will definitely help you understand maya culture more. There are multiple bus tours available from cancun to Chichen Itza/Tulum but we rented a car for this tour as I feel bus tour wastes a lot of time(Bus tour takes almost 12 hours whereas it took us just 5 hours through car) Bus tours are definitely more economical though.
Chichen Itza is a very popular place so expect a lot of visitors, so i advice you guys to reach a little early.

  • Pic at Cancun Sign : Visiting Cancun Sign for a pic is must because its location is just so pretty. It is right across the beach and if you take a pic at that place, the background will look extremely pretty. 🙂
There is an ample amount of parking spaces available near Cancun Sign
  • Road Trip to Tulum : Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It’s known for its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city. The main building is a large stone structure called El Castillo (castle), perched on a rocky cliff above the white sand beach and turquoise sea.

Swim with dolphins

There is a beautiful aquarium in cancun and it was right across our hotel. It is called interactive aquarium. And you can swim with dolphins there. I have seen beautiful pictures of so many people with those dolphins. I did not go there because i am strictly against keeping these beautiful animals in these small pools. But if you guys are interested, you can go there and get pics clicked while swimming with these cute animals
