New York Day 1

Ever since my childhood, it was my big dream to visit New York City. I have always been so fascinated with the mention of New York city in movies/Tv Shows like Serendipity, Friends and many many m0re. I and my husband planned going to New York City in Memorial Day weekend of May 2019. I just joined my new job almost 3 months ago so i could hardly take 2 days off , so along with 3 memorial day holidays, we planned our trip for 5 days in new york and as Seattle is situated directly opposite to New York in USA Map, It was almost a 6 hour Flight one way and thus flights alone took almost a day away from our already short trip.

After spending almost 7 hours in flight and 2 hours in subway, we reached our hotel at 9 AM, Our check-in time was at 3 PM but our amazing hotel staff did gave us an early check in. After resting for a while in hotel, we started exploring this amazing city. New York is huge and beautiful. My husband can easily walk for 6 hours exploring the city but needless to say, I am not like that. LOL

We decided to start 1st Day by visiting “The High Line”. It was an almost 20 minute subway ride from our hotel and it is a beautiful place but actually it is not a very famous spot to visit so I would recommend you to definitely visit this place if you are in New York. The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. It is a really beautiful InstaWorthy Spot so if you are looking for a place to get photos that are perfect for posting on Instagram, you have to visit this place. You can find lots of food carts in Highline so you can enjoy the views as well as satiate your food palette.

High Line

After High Line, we took another subway to go to Flatiron District to get a glimpse of Flatiron Building and also to visit Empire State Building. Flatiron Building is an amazing building to see. If you are a tiny bit interested in architecture, you should give this place a visit. And one more amazing thing about this building- If you are a fan of Spiderman movies, You would also be interested in knowing that Flatiron Building was the one that was shown as headquarters of Daily Bugle in which Peter Parker(Spiderman) used to work.

Flatiron Building, NYC

Empire State Building is just 10 minute walk from Flatiron Building so its amazing to plan them together. Expect a lot of crowd in empire state building. It is wise to purchase the tickets online. We purchased 7-Stop Explorer Pass and I definitely recommend getting this card. You will save lots of money and you will also save decision time to decide what attractions you want to see in New York. Empire State Building is really amazing and I fell in love with the views from this amazing building.

After spending almost 30 minutes seeing awesome views from top of building, we took subway to reach our hotel and we went out to get some light dinner and for that we went to IndiKitch. And we loved it so much that we really miss it here in Seattle.

And as soon as we reached hotel back, we were so tired and just wanted to sleep.
